Hi,
I'm a 28 years old bodybuilder from Germany. I have been working out for eleven years and I have achieved a quite good muscular development: 19,5' biceps, 28' thighs. Though I'm able to do some pretty impressive lifts (bench press, squats, etc.), I'm still a very bad armwrestler. Recently, some friends of mine challenged me in armwrestling and it was a real fiasco: I lost four matches, won one and reached one tie. (None of my friends has my size and none is practizing bodybuilding, some are playing soccer and basketball). Even more frustrating was an experience during a party when I did some armwrestling with a 19 years old girl, of course much smaller than me: Finally, I won the match but after almost two minutes being most of the time in real trouble. ![Crying [:'(]](/emoticons/emotion-9.gif)
Furthermore, I have some difficulties in performing chins (my maximum being three chins at a weight of 235 pounds). Is there a any tie-in between my weak performance in chinning and my bad results in armwrestling. And what kind of exercises would you suggest me for improving my armwrestling skills.

Hello Julius, I just recently joined this site and noticed your subject hasn't had a reply. You may have already found the remedy to your problem, but I'll share a few things with ya. First size and strength mean nothing without technique. You will be bound to loose everytime relying on that. If you want a good introduction to techniques go to Pinarm.com. Awesome site and very informative. Second you gotta train your hands, wrist and forearms. Your biceps and triceps are also key here, but your source of power is in your forearms wrist and hands. I suggest for your hands, order yourself some grippers, HeavyGrips or Captains of Crush grippers will do. for your wrist get a 6lbs sledgehammer with a long handle. And to see what to do with a 6lbs sledge hammer, go to Ironmind.com, there is a guy on there that shows you a few excercises with it. Be sure to check out all the other stuff too. And as far as chinups after you get your first three that you are able to do, start doing negatives like crazy, and when you can't even budge, just let yourself hang for thirty seconds, or until you can't hang on anymore. That will help with grip, gotta have a strong grip if you want to be good at chinups. Anyways just do some of the research I suggested and see what happens alright? Later on man.
