Cool [H] Question about curling your wrist
Reply Quote
I know you're allowed to curl/bend your wrist in an arm wrestle, but there have been times when my opponent has curled their wrist and I've gotten down their entire arm, except for the hand (the entire wrist is on the table, however). My question is, in a real (professional) arm wrestle, would that count as a win? Or does the hand have to come down? I think it counts as a win, because if you look here

that guy only has to tough John's wrist to the table, not necessarily his hand. So I think it count as a win, but I just want to make sure first.

btw, good site. This is my first post, I just signed up about ten minutes ago. Smile [:)]

Ahh yes!!

I have seen this arm-wrestle too..... Brzenk Vs. Voevoda.  I think I understand what you are talking about.  Probably came down to the ref on the day, but I recall hearing soemthing about a parallel pin where if you are in a losing position and you arm gets to what the referee believes is parallel to the table, you should lose the bout.   Some people dont know when they are beaten.  You can put their arm on the table with their wrist cocked in the air and they are like "i'm not down yet"  I think its more damaged pride than anything else. The cant handle the loss so they play those silly games.

Okay, thanks for the reply! This site is really awesome, I wish it were more popular, though, a big site with like a million members. It's really hard to get down someone's wrist when it's up like that, even if you're a lot stronger than your opponent. I did it once last month before I saw the video, and the other guy didn't really try, he was just like "well, I'm not going anywhere" and I just tried one last time to get his arm back up, then let it down. I won't keep it up at all like that anymore.Smile [:)]
