The 6-round match started off with Artur’s quick win in the first round. In the second round, however, Brik was the one to win (Glowinski was awarded more fouls than Brik). As if knowing his opponent’s technique, the Russian competitor walked through the match winning each round to finally beat Artur 5:1. Match #2 John Brzenk vs Taras Ivakin. It was evident that Ivakin was really well-prepared. In spite of losing in the first round, he didn’t give up and it paid off for he became master of the situation in the second round. The third round witnessed a change in Brzenk’s tactics and the match went to straps. Everyone could see how experienced
